Annoying. The host is missing basic conversational etiquette. She talks over people, tangents on nostalgia, and in one episode didn’t even turn her phone off from text alerts. If you’re looking a respectable intellectual discussion on being childfree give this a hard pass.
In a world filled with literature, advertising and societal pressures around parenthood it is amazing to find something that explores and celebrates a wider spectrum of experience and alternative choice. Thank you Auntie Julia and all the guests.
For those who can relate, definitely give it a listen! It can be very funny at times. Great podcast for all those with similar points of view. Even I may not agree with some comments, but I really enjoy hearing the many points of view. I am always open to new ideas. I may not change my ideas, but at least I can say I listened.
I appreciate this podcast so much. I really enjoy the openness and the guests with varying opinions on becoming a parent or not. I really enjoyed the SATC episode and would love to hear more discussion about childfree women in media. Thank you for addressing the laugh issue :)
I love this podcast!!!! I can relate to it in so many ways. I am a young married woman, who does not want children and often times people push me and challenge me into changing my mind. It’s extremely frustrating and I’m so glad Julia discusses things like that. My only complaint is when Julia laughs (which I love her laugh so much), it’s soooo loud that one of my headphone speakers blew...hahaha! So I’m not sure if there is something with the sound that can be fixed, but other than that, it’s m... more
My new favorite pod! Julia is able to tackle interesting and hevay topics with a light and breezy energy. I now love Thursday's as much as I love seeing one line on a pregancy test.
I have always believed I didn’t want children and constantly felt myself defending that decision to friends and random strangers who felt they knew what made sense for me more than I do. Now that I am in a committed relationship with a partner who wants kids, but supports our relationship with or without kids, I’ve been conflicted. Having this podcast has been an amazing outlet to hear women who think and feel like I do and help me think critically about whatever choices I do make. I haven’t fe... more
I am in love with this podcast! It makes me feel empowered to say I don’t have kids by design not circumstance. This conversation is important too because it opens up the option for couples/people to really reflect on the long term implications of having children. Taking away the expectation of parenthood helps us to stop and think, is this inline with my life goals/wants? It’s that simple, no judgement.
