Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Late Summer Tactics: Offshore Marlin, Inshore Kings & Kayak Fishing Solutions
Q: Do you feel like direction matters when you're trolling these baits?
Direction does matter when there is significant current; you typically want to troll with the current to maintain a natural lure presentation.
Late Summer Tactics: Offshore Marlin, Inshore Kings & Kayak Fishing Solutions
Q: What colors do you like for trolling?
I prefer silver or white-sided colors, as well as some mahi and bonita patterns that mimic local forage.
Late Summer Tactics: Offshore Marlin, Inshore Kings & Kayak Fishing Solutions
Q: What should somebody want a cleaner wake like you were describing?
A cleaner wake helps prevent noise disturbances in the water, which is crucial for not spooking the fish, allowing baits to swim more naturally and increasing the chances of catching fish.
Night Fishing, Tarpon, and Full Moon Strategy
Q: If you don't have a live well set up, what should you use instead?
You should have a swim bait ready in case live bait isn't an option.
Night Fishing, Tarpon, and Full Moon Strategy
Q: Are you changing any of your tactics for the rest of your trips this year?
Yes, I will probably do a lot more trolling because it's hard to get out in front of them and cast when you only see it pop up for a second.
