  • Keep it up

Very informational podcast. The food plot and the different podcasts of talkin turkeys are my favorite. I also enjoy the deer hunting and deer managing podcast. The latest with mark drurry was a good one. I am in a club of 8000+acres. I try to help game keep every year spring and summer. The mossy oak cowpeas were a hit along with the deer vetch plus this year. I don’t have any cameras out yet but something is eating it and it’s thriving. Keep putting out content I’m learning from

    It.

  • 16 gauge

Episode 462 I thoroughly enjoyed the 16 gauge show. My Dad was a 16 gauge guy and when he passed I’m now the caretaker of his treasures. I make it a point each turkey season with the help of Apex ammo to take a turkey on our farm with his vintage 16ga 870. I’m currently in the process of turning it into a turkey gun that I intend to give my grandson on his “16th” birthday. I’ve had the barrel threaded for a turkey choke and am having it dipped in full foliage Thanks for another great episode

EP: 453 | Into The Weeds
Q: What's the best strategy for spraying Cogongrass in a patch?
Treat the entire perimeter plus an additional buffer (roughly 3 feet) beyond the visible patch when using soil-active products, and plan a follow-up spray before frost for best translocation and seed suppression.
EP: 453 | Into The Weeds
Q: What is Cogongrass and how did it get here?
Cogongrass is a highly invasive perennial grass with aggressive rhizomes that spread rapidly; it likely arrived as a contaminant in packing material and root stock during historic plant introductions, and it has since spread across multiple states through movement of soil, plant material, and infested equipment.
Ep: 454 | Screw Worms Explained
Q: What is the basic biology of the screwworm and how do the maggots infest hosts?
Female screwworms lay 100–300 eggs in wounds or natural openings; eggs hatch into maggots that feed on living flesh, driving tissue damage and odor that attracts more females, perpetuating a cycle unless interrupted by sterile-male releases or other control measures.
EP: 448 | Monte Burke Tells Fishing Stories
Q: Monte, real quick, so in your times out there in the flats, out there live fishing, did you ever take a bowl of peanuts out on the boat with you?
Yes, boiled peanuts are a Southern staple and came up as a light, humorous point in the conversation; it wasn't a serious question but sparked a playful exchange about superstition and local culture.
EP: 450 | Guns & Ammo with David Faubion
Q: What is David Faubion's career path to becoming the editor of Guns & Ammo's Special Interest Publications?
David describes how luck and family hunting heritage set him on a path that led from growing up in Western Washington to collaborating with influential editors, eventually landing at Guns & Ammo after a stint with Peterson's Hunting and a first role with the NRA's American Hunter magazine, culminating in a long tenure with Guns & Ammo Special Interest Publications.
