  • Utter nonsense

The host just laps up any old rubbish the guests are spewing out and the guests are more tech bros than actual knowledgeable people. This includes those working for Lloyds. Someone with some actual knowledge should look into this as it’s a surprise to see something this bad coming from LBG.

  • This curious enthusiast is learning a lot!

I don’t work in tech directly but wanted to educate myself on some of the big future themes around tech, particularly around the impact of GenAI as I work in marketing and its presence is definitely growing. The episodes highlighted some really interesting real world scenarios across different industries, and whilst some of the language is quite tech heavy, it still feels accessible to a beginner like me. Would definitely recommend if you want to level up your understanding of tech impacts on th... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI & Tokenisation: Coincidence or Convergence?
Q: How might wallets evolve beyond asset management in this AI-tokenization world?
Wallets could evolve into hubs for managing identity and data, enabling safer, more configurable permissions and services delivered through AI-enabled assistants and programmable transactions.
AI & Tokenisation: Coincidence or Convergence?
Q: Will customer journeys and transaction speeds actually become faster thanks to tokenization?
Yes, but with the caveat that trust, governance, and regulatory clarity must be in place; the speed of execution will be meaningful only if the underlying settlement and compliance frameworks keep pace.
AI & Tokenisation: Coincidence or Convergence?
Q: Is this convergence a coincidence or a true convergence of AI and tokenization?
The panel suggests it is a true convergence: AI accelerates decision-making and tokenized infrastructure enables fast, secure execution, with the two mutually enabling each other when built on trustworthy, regulated settlement rails.
What is digital money and who trusts it?
Q: What does interoperability mean in this context, and how do you build the institutional arrangements to make tokenized money interoperable across different systems?
Interoperability is framed as the evolution of legacy financial rails (like cards and faster payments) to support tokenized money across ecosystems, requiring standardized frameworks, custody and settlement practices, and regulatory alignment to ensure assets can move securely between platforms.
What is digital money and who trusts it?
Q: Could you educate us and our listeners a bit on all these different types of digital money and why in different geographies they have made different choices?
The group explains a spectrum from cryptocurrencies to CBDCs and tokenized deposits, noting that countries tailor regulation to their goals, with the UAE fostering crypto-friendly regulation, the UK exploring tokenized deposits, and the US aiming to support stablecoins as a global standard while Europe moves more slowly but implements regulations like MCIA and related acts.
