Brad Smith has lived several lives—and somehow talks about all of them on the radio. He’s a former Canadian Football League player (yes, the hits were real), a TV host on Chopped Canada (no, he does not judge your cooking), and a former star of The Bachelor Canada (long story, limited roses). Now behind the mic, Brad delivers unfiltered opinions, sharp humor, and conversations that skip the nonsen... more

  • AWESOMELY REFRESHING!!

If you only know Brad Smith from years ago when he was the Canadian Bachelor and mistakenly think he cannot possibly be great as a talk radio host, you owe it to yourself to listen! His shows are intelligent, but entertaining, a great mix and fantastic guests on many subjects that you will almost never hear on radio or “mainstream media”

He is not afraid to state his opinion, and also have his mind changed. A really great show and he has become one of my favourite broadcasters!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

"71" - Pride Was About Love… Now Corporations Are Hijacking It – HelloFresh Ad Makes You Go “Really?”
Q: What is your take on the HelloFresh Pride ad and why it rubs some people the wrong way?
The ad is seen as tasteless and overly provocative, potentially reinforcing stereotypes and distracting from the core message of equality; it may reflect a marketing department's inside joke rather than a thoughtful alignment with broad LGBTQ rights, especially for audiences outside urban centers.
"65" - Brain Decline, Retirement & Why Empires Fall
Q: Tommy, what's going on with brain health and retirement?
Tommy explains that retirement often reduces daily cognitive stimulation, which can accelerate decline unless people deliberately engage in new mental and physical activities, social connections, and learning to keep the brain active.
"64" - Have We Made Parenting Too Complicated?
Q: Why is active, structured engagement like sports important for developing resilience?
Structured activities teach competition, handling loss, and discipline, which are foundational for success in later life, even as parents navigate concerns about overprotection.
"64" - Have We Made Parenting Too Complicated?
Q: How do we balance giving kids direction with allowing them independence in a hyper-connected world?
The host and guest discuss giving clear boundaries and explanations, rather than mere commands, to help children learn responsibility while maintaining a healthy parent-child relationship.
"64" - Have We Made Parenting Too Complicated?
Q: Is there a risk that parents are losing themselves in the drive to be present and perfect?
Yes, the conversation suggests that overemphasizing presence and monitoring can erode parents' own self-care and lead to stress, which in turn affects how they raise their kids.
