Reviews

4.8 out of 5 stars from 929 ratings
  • Shaun has developed a very interesting community of listeners as he interviews many expert guests on worldwide issues, and from time to time adding more local Canadian/Provincial issues.

He has helped me add to my knowledge level on many issues and he continues to hone his skills, becoming a better interviewer as time goes on.

He has created an annual physical event where many of his guests are invited to speak to the community that has been created.

    Worth a listen!

Overall I like the guests, topics, hosts, content, everything. However in order to listen to this one must ffwd to minute 6 to avoid the most cringeworthy, repetitive and painful intro phase. It isn’t just the name dropping, the banter about the endless studio, it just stretches on into eternity every time, one has to wonder if the host actually listens to the show and endures the torment of his own 6 minutes. So 4 star, please drop that 6 and get right into it.

  • Great journey

SNP has been a regular in my feed for quite a while. You are consistently bringing on guests who are fascinating to me and I enjoy your style.

When I read This Present Darkness as a teen, it was perspective-rocking and it was so amazing to listen to you discuss it, then you INTERVIEWED Peretti?!?! Well done.

Thank you for showcasing Watoto, too! Love them 🫶

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#1042 - Kathy Flett
Q: Who are the podcasters and speakers involved in the pillar project, and how did the idea start?
The project began as a conversation among several Alberta podcasters and speakers who wanted to build a live, Alberta-focused dialogue around the six pillars of building a strong country, with speakers from Ontario and the US joining in. Kathy Flett and Angela Tay are central organizers who recruited speakers to contribute to the pillars. The aim is to give Alberta a platform to discuss independence in a thoughtful, inclusive way.
#1038 - Janice Trey
Q: What are your thoughts on Canada's relationship with China and the implications for freedom and human rights?
She advocates for maintaining strong human rights standards and cautions against aligning too closely with China, highlighting the importance of media freedom, religious freedom, and the protection of democratic values in Canada as a counterbalance to authoritarian influence.
#1038 - Janice Trey
Q: It's your first time on the show, tell us a little about yourself.
The guest describes growing up under Communist rule, her journey from China to Hong Kong, and her progression through Fortune 500 roles to lead Epoch Times and SafeMeet, emphasizing a commitment to truth, transparency, and enabling free communication for people in closed societies.
#1030 - Isik Abla
Q: Now, it's your first time on the podcast, so what I'd love to hear is your story, for the audience and for myself, so we can understand who you're listening to as we get into current events.
She shares a traumatic upbringing in a Divat Muslim home in Turkey, exposure to civil war, abuse, and complex PTSD, followed by a transition away from Islamist ideology toward Christianity after moving to America and encountering a Christian boss who leads her to Christ.
#1032 - Rebekah Koffler
Q: What are your thoughts on Russia-Ukraine peace prospects given the current dynamics?
The analytic line is that peace is unlikely in the near term because the core positions of Russia, Ukraine, and the United States remain irreconcilable, with both sides maintaining leverage and strategic posturing that makes a lasting settlement improbable.
