  • It is like a super-hero movie.

The show guests are some of the most interesting folks around analyzing current affairs. The host’s admitted and at times shocking ignorance, allow clarity into the guest’s opinions; get a library card dude.

  • Investigative and entertaining

Disregard the 1 star reviews: they are filled with laughable inaccuracies, and give off a strong aroma of malicious jealousy. The guests on this podcast are highly interesting, even if you are not familiar with them or their field of expertise. Mike Farris does a great job conducting, doesn’t interrupt, and comes across as a genuinely nice person. This podcast has become one of my faves. Don’t hesitate to tune in, you will be rewarded with great info and provocative thinking.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ross Hendricks #1387
Q: Can you describe your background and current focus?
I come from a circuitous path into finance, with a chemistry background, and I've leaned into energy markets and macro research at Porter and Co., focusing on oil, energy infrastructure, and the intersection with technology and geopolitics.
Larry Johnson #1385
Q: How does China view and respond to Western actions in the region?
He argues China has diversified its energy and supply chains, reduced exposure to shock, and pursued strategic reserves and Belt and Road-type resilience to insulate itself from Western sanctions and turbulence.
Larry Johnson #1385
Q: What are the key drivers behind the current Middle East tensions?
Johnson highlights a mix of sanctions, regional power dynamics, and the strategic value of energy routes; he emphasizes Iran's resilience and the Gulf states' calculations to balance security with economic considerations.
Lt. Col Karen Kwiatkowski #1380
Q: What are your expectations for the China summit and its potential impact on Iran and the Middle East?
The guest expresses cautious optimism about diplomacy, hoping China can leverage influence to achieve concrete outcomes, particularly regarding Iran, while recognizing that real progress depends on strategic alignment and restraint from aggressive actions.
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson #1378
Q: Do you think they care about the midterms, or is there a deeper calculus at play in foreign policy decisions?
He suggests that while political considerations like the midterms matter, the driving forces are behind-the-scenes actors and strategic interests—especially those tied to big tech and wealthy financiers—who influence foreign and domestic policy beyond electoral cycles.
