  • Such good content… when I can hear it.

I have appreciated the content and topics when I can make them out or focus, but as someone who (1) has some auditory processing difficulty with words and (2) listens to podcasts while doing things like driving, doing dishes, cooking, and other things that have their own sounds, the fact that the equipment the hosts are using or the mixing they’re doing leaves the audio sounding like talking on the phone in a tunnel. It’s often overwhelmed by ambient sound if I use my Bluetooth speaker, so then ... more

Talking Points

Rebuilding Healthcare for the Benefit of All (w/ Dave Chase)
Q: How do you envision the future of health care at the bioregional or community level?
A future with bioregional, community-governed health plans that coordinate care and address social determinants—like housing, food access, and transportation—while maintaining world-class clinical care locally. This would involve collective ownership, shared risk, and a networked ecosystem of providers, insurers, and stakeholders working toward common well-being goals.
Rebuilding Healthcare for the Benefit of All (w/ Dave Chase)
Q: What are the most actionable steps an employer with a few hundred employees can take to start rebuilding their health plan?
Begin with a plan grader to assess current contracts and performance, then move toward independent TPAs and PBMs, direct contracts, and optimized plan design that reduces unnecessary costs while expanding access. Build step by step rather than trying to do everything at once, and leverage open-source playbooks and local experts to implement changes.
Rebuilding Healthcare for the Benefit of All (w/ Dave Chase)
Q: Could you briefly explain why Medicare-for-all, in its current framing, isn't the complete solution to the U.S. health-care problem?
Medicare-for-all may improve certain pricing and coverage aspects, but it still shares many structural flaws like administrative burden, misaligned incentives, and limited attention to social determinants of health. Health Rosetta argues for a broader reform framework that rethinks plan design, incentives, and local governance to address root causes and allocate resources where they most impact well-being.
Degrowth, Disaster Justice, and Building a Post-Growth Society with Feroz Khan
Q: What are the implications of decolonization as it relates to degrowth?
Feroz emphasizes that genuine decolonization can facilitate degrowth by breaking patterns of extraction and fostering local capacities, illustrating this with historical and modern examples.
Degrowth, Disaster Justice, and Building a Post-Growth Society with Feroz Khan
Q: Can you elaborate on the intersection of degrowth and disaster?
Feroz explains that degrowth challenges the paradigm of perpetual growth, which exacerbates risks for disasters and hinders equitable resource distribution.
