  • Best DC Sports Podcast

The Commanders also have a couple of good shows, but I think Nats Chat is the best of those covering DC sports teams. Al and Mark offer a great blend of mature analysis and inside information that is unfortunately lacking in other DC team podcasts.

  • The only Nats podcast that matters.

Al, Mark & CO. are the best! I hope this pod never ends tho I’d love to hear Al Galdi in the MASN broadcast booth one day. Update: -1 star, Patriot Supply adverts? No on 50? Really? Please know that your audience is smarter than that.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Yankees Strike Back in the 8th
Q: What went wrong in the late innings that led to the loss against the Yankees?
The bullpen collapse in the eighth inning, with Ribalta and Beeter giving up multiple homers and runs, turned a defense-positive game into a loss, highlighting the bullpen's lack of consistent closing ability and the broader roster strain.
Garcia & Wood Homer in Win
Q: What are the chances the Wizards draft AJ DeBonsa versus Darren Peterson?
Chase Hughes explains that DeBonsa is the leader in most mock drafts and presents a balanced case for both players, noting due diligence and the tension of choosing between two elite prospects.
Cornelio Takes Loss in Debut
Q: Why did the Nationals choose to call up Riley Cornelio for this spot in a one‑run game?
The hosts and Tara Prigge discuss the strategic rationale: leveraging two Rochester starters for potential long relief and evaluating whether Cornelio could handle a high‑leverage moment, with an eye toward future spots where he could contribute as a conventional starter.
Wood & Good Pitching in Wisco Win
Q: What stood out most about Foster Griffin tonight, and how does his pitch mix project going forward?
Scott emphasized Griffin's tactical approach, his diverse pitch repertoire, and his ability to keep hitters off balance, making him a real asset as he progresses through the season.
Paul Toboni Joins Nats Chat to Talk Gore Trade & More
Q: What excites you about those prospects?
Toboni highlights the high-end talent acquired, mentioning the potential of players like Gavin Fien and Alejandro Rosario, and the excitement around their abilities and future contributions.
