  • Stay on topic

MTG topics are great and what I’m here for. In-depth strategies, especially for Modern, and upcoming sets. I had to un-sub due to the social and political bantering/rambling. There are plenty of other podcasts to choose from that strictly talk MTG.

Great vibes. Great content. Let's grind. Also Jesse Robkin is the funniest person in Magic. Episodes with her play out like snappy well-written comedy sketches.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Grindcast 391: Proficient with Prowess (with Jarvis Yu!)
Q: What are your primary concerns going into the RC?
My few concerns are I don't think I've solved the demons matchup yet. I think it's legitimately like it's the preacher shield or decks that I don't really enjoy playing against.
Grindcast 387: Steel Cutter? I barely know her
Q: What would you play in those RCQs?
Chris expresses his desire to play Prowess due to his enjoyment of the deck and excitement for casting specific cards like Cory Steelcutter.
Grindcast 323: Cruising through Atlanta (with RC finalist Mark Stanton)
Q: Mark, since we're on the topic, before getting into the story of the tournament, you did a lot of prep. Did you have a specific schedule or plan?
I did feel that I put in more work than I ever had, but I could have done even more.
CCR Guests on the Dive Down's Phoenix Episode
Q: How do you view the Grixis Phoenix deck in the current meta?
It has become less favorable due to the inefficiencies in dealing with threats and being more susceptible to graveyard hate.
CCR Guests on the Dive Down's Phoenix Episode
Q: What's your assessment of the matchups against Amalia combo?
It's a tough matchup because of how relentless Amalia is in continuing to make threats.
