Morrissey and Wine is funny, warm, enlightening, and best of all, it brings Morrissey and music fans entertaining insights into current events and the music of Morrissey. George and Chris have brought amazing guests on for interviews. They give thoughtful song analysis, and Nanny Val’s reviews are great too. Their genuineness and humor make this my all time favorite podcast.
Would be five stars if the cohost (not the main fella) had better audio quality. Hard to hear him!
Unable to understand the hosts, unfortunately. Interspersed in the mumbling are a few identifiable words but that’s it. Could an American English dubbing option be provided? Thank you.
Love the attempt at content, the song analysis with nanny is spot one, the host’s interview skills need some work. The Boz interview could have yielded so much more information if the hosts’ weren’t so anxious and unrehearsed…
He seemed willing to talk about anything and willing to talk more, but the interview felt abruptly ended and content empty…
So happy to hear this podcast exists. The world is drab and needs more Morrissey. Ye guys are doing it well.

A conversational show where a newspaper journalist and a devoted fan drink wine while unpacking Morrissey and The Smiths. Episodes mix in-depth song and recording spotlights, personal anecdotes from concerts, and light-hearted segments with a recurring family guest. A recurring guest roster and lively guest interviews add historical context, humor, and fan perspective to both classic material and new releases. The format tends to blend music analysis with pop culture trivia, cultural commentary, and wine-tasting, often anchored by long-running rivalries, collaborations, and industry anecdotes. A standout aspect is the mixture of technical music insight, candid reminiscences, and family-style reactions that can give listeners a strong sense ... more
