  • Go ‘Timiney’!

They’ve got the formation, er, right! Tominey sharp and incisive as ever, Tim the woolly dagger … and I mean that as a compliment - he’s wise, kind, hilarious, and so quietly clever I get weepy. The best political pod for sensing the mood in actual, living breathing Britain.

The reporting and insights were nonetheless, and as per usual for The Daily T, Ver... more

Cabinet revolt erupts as Starmer refuses to budge
Q: Is that a fair analysis?
Karl Turner affirms the analysis, describing the Labour Party's current stalemate as accurate and highlighting how the left and the soft left want a longer contest while Streeting supporters prefer a shorter path to remove Starmer.
‘Hypocrite!’: New Polanski scandal erupts during local elections
Q: Professor Curtice, how should listeners interpret local election polling when national trends look different across regions?
Curtice explains that local results often diverge from national trends due to local factors, candidate quality, and historical voting patterns, so we should read local polls as indicators of momentum and turnout rather than direct forecasts of Westminster outcomes.
Beware the Greens, warns ex deputy leader: ‘They are a danger to society’
Q: What about the 10-to-1 pay ratio—has it been tried anywhere, and could it work in the UK?
The discussion highlights that no country has implemented a perfect 10-to-1 ratio; proponents argue it could reduce inequality if implemented with safeguards, while opponents warn about potential job losses and economic disruption.
Beware the Greens, warns ex deputy leader: ‘They are a danger to society’
Q: How do you justify advocating high-visibility positions that some perceive as anti-Israel or Islamist-influenced?
Shara Ali argues these positions reflect broader concerns about social conservatism and governance within Greens, while Ellie Chowns stresses the need for peaceful, lawful discourse and cautions against painting the entire party with a single narrative.

Q: Is the motion declaring Zionism as racism actually party policy?
Ellie Chowns explains the motion is not formal party policy and emphasizes there is room for debate within the party, with members able to vote differently and disciplinary processes in place for policy alignment.
