  • Just listen already!

5⭐️ - KC is so thoughtful in all that she does and the topics and guests she brings to these conversations are always so helpful and relevant to the mat stages of parenthood, and quite honestly, womanhood/life. It’s like talking to friends about the taboo and the frustrating bits of life, with zero shame or judgement! You won’t be disappointed.

  • Feels like a friend chat

Absolutely adore this podcast! I have followed KC since 2020 and have missed her raw chats. This feels so much like the old times of insta but even better. I love listening and feeling like I am chatting with a friend about all the things. My favorite part “whatever it doesn’t matter” 😂 because it’s literally how we talk to friends while telling a story. We get sidetracked and try to stay on the same story. Keep this up KC! Can’t wait to hear all the episodes to come!

  • 100% worth the follow and listen

I am NOT a podcast person (seriously, can’t ever get into them) but I’ve followed KC on instagram for a few years and wanted to give this a listen because of much of her story I can relate too. Let me tell you, it’s so validating and real.

  • Easy to listen to one of my best friends

KC has such a sweet voice, but her knowledge, insights and vulnerability add tremendous strength. KC doesn’t know me, but I feel like she is one of my best friends, during this very challenging and lonely journey of motherhood; she gets it and she is sharing so that no one feels alone. I feel seen. Keep up the lovely work you do KC.

Talking Points

39. The Hormone Revolution: What Women Were Never Taught About Their Bodies with Mariah Berendt
Q: How should listeners approach cycle-tracking and nutrition without falling into the overcomplicated cycle-syncing trap?
Focus on physiological biomarkers rather than strict phase-based shopping lists. Track signs like cervical mucus, LH, basal body temperature, and general health indicators to understand your cycle, while keeping nutrition simple and adaptable, rather than rigidly tailoring every meal to a supposed phase.
39. The Hormone Revolution: What Women Were Never Taught About Their Bodies with Mariah Berendt
Q: What are the six foundations of holistic menstrual health that you recommend people have at the table when thinking about overall menstrual wellness?
The six foundations are nourishing diet, blood sugar balance, sleep, stress management, digestion, and body literacy. The guidance emphasizes real food, adequate intake, balanced meals with protein, veggies, healthy fats, and real carbohydrates, along with practices that support stable blood sugar and hormonal health.
36. Breaking Parenting Cycles: Emotional Regulation for Parents and Kids with Jon Fogel
Q: What would be a practical starting point for a parent who wants to regulate themselves and approach consequences more calmly?
Start with acknowledging your own heat, pause for about 40 seconds to reset your nervous system, then choose a proportional, directly related consequence or natural consequence, and explain it calmly in a way that helps the child connect the action with the outcome without escalating.
36. Breaking Parenting Cycles: Emotional Regulation for Parents and Kids with Jon Fogel
Q: We've talked about the emotional regulation piece a little bit, but punishment versus consequences versus natural consequences. Can you break down, when you're saying punishment-based parenting or punishment-free parenting, what do you mean by that?
Punishment is any retributive action used to induce compliance, based on causing pain or shame; in contrast, punishment-free parenting relies on natural or logical consequences and teaching rather than shaming, with a focus on regulating the parent's own emotions to guide the child rather than escalating the conflict.
31. Brain-Based Treatment 101: How Applied Functional Neurology Supports Kids’ Development and Adult Recovery
Q: Is there a certification or credential parents should look for to know a practitioner can integrate brain-based treatment into their child's care?
Yes. Look for Z-Health certifications by Dr. Eric Cobb, as Missy explains, and use the 'find a trainer' tool on zhealtheducation.com to locate a practitioner near you or explore virtual options.
