  • High quality, and enjoyable even for a non business type

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a new Money Talks episode among my podcasts. This group of knowledgeable, articulate and yet jovial friends enlightens the audience with substantial conversations and interviews. The economics rarely goes over my head but I am sure is satisfying to business professionals too. Along with the other Economist podcasts Money Talks is worth so much more than the subscription cost.

  • The name is misleading. This podcast is great

The name is misleading, it sounds like a really dull topic to me, a non-finance person. But actually this podcast is great and of broad interest. It’s an interesting, high-quality podcast, with fun presenters.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Import-extort: what to make of Donald Trump’s titanic tariffs
Q: Is it possible for America to have more domestic production through these tariffs?
Even if they boost certain sectors, tariffs discourage overall efficiency and could lead to higher consumer costs, ultimately resulting in economic stagnation rather than growth.
Import-extort: what to make of Donald Trump’s titanic tariffs
Q: What do you take the new tariffs to mean in the context of historical US trade policy?
The tariffs represent a broad action similar to existing frameworks but lack the specificity and negotiation targets characteristic of past policies, inviting international backlash and potentially chaotic outcomes.
