  • Fantastic. Have loved listening to Miriam ever since I first heard her on those big group tech journalists collab podcasts I heard back in early to mid 2010s I believe during IFA, MWC etc etc. Still just as curious and passionate about tech as ever. Particularly love hearing you talk about phone/tech manufacturers outside the US bubble.

  • Different Perspective

I appreciate Myriam’s perspective on tech but I feel like she keeps talking over the guest she’s with and it’s making it difficult for me to listen at times.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The state of smartglasses, Xreal project Aura, smartglasses at Google I/O, Realme 16T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Oppo Reno 16 series, and more with Nick Sutrich of Android Central
Q: How do you compare Aura with the current Meta Ray-Ban displays and other AR glasses in terms of usability and future prospects?
The host emphasizes Aura as a VR headset-in-glass form factor with hand tracking and a Compute Puck, which could deliver more capable experiences than small-scope wearables, while Nick points out Aura's reliance on a tethered model and the importance of software ecosystems; both agree the next few years will reveal whether these devices become mainstream or stay niche gadgets.
The state of smartglasses, Xreal project Aura, smartglasses at Google I/O, Realme 16T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Oppo Reno 16 series, and more with Nick Sutrich of Android Central
Q: What are your initial thoughts on the Google I/O wearables announcements and the Samsung/Warby Parker partnership?
Nick explains that while the partnerships are interesting from a hardware collaboration perspective, the real test will be how well the software stacks (Gemini, Galaxy Wear, and Google's AI features) integrate with the hardware, and how the user experience feels across contexts like driving, workouts, and day-to-day tasks.
Apple MacBook Neo first impressions, Oppo Find X9 Ultra teaser, Moto Razr leaks, Insta360 Snap, and more with Enrique Villacrez of Cyber Nut HQ
Q: How do you see Oppo's Find X9 Ultra impacting the broader camera-phone market?
The Find X9 Ultra demonstrates that camera prowess and distinctive design can drive consumer interest beyond raw specs, pushing competitors to emphasize imaging capabilities and unique physical design cues to stand out in a crowded market.
Apple MacBook Neo first impressions, Oppo Find X9 Ultra teaser, Moto Razr leaks, Insta360 Snap, and more with Enrique Villacrez of Cyber Nut HQ
Q: What do you think about the RAM constraints on future Neo updates and how that might affect Windows laptop competition?
If Apple shifts to a newer chip with binning and keeps eight gigs of RAM as the base, Windows laptops might need to optimize Windows itself to run smoothly on eight gigs, otherwise performance and price competition will hinge on balancing memory, efficiency, and OS efficiency.
Apple iPhone 17e review, Tecno Camon 50 Ultra review, Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37, OnePlus 15T, and more with Derrek Lee of Android Central
Q: What are your initial impressions of the iPhone 17e compared to Android options you've reviewed recently?
The iPhone 17e stands out for its compact size, strong battery life, high-refresh handling, and MagSafe support, delivering a very refined Apple experience that even a non-Apple user can appreciate for day-to-day use; it's a rare instance of Apple putting a flagship-like feature into a base model, which sets a new benchmark in the mid-range space.
