In the final episode of this season, Thomas speaks to the role of sincerity in prayer life. Many of us have a tendency to think we’ve got to do it all—that if we’re going to grow spiritually, we’ve got to do it by the sweat of our brow. But in a worl... more
This is a continuation of last week’s episode about committing more fully to life’s challenging moments. Thomas explores the sacred, transformative element of suffering that we can turn to in times of agony and distress. The more willingness we culti... more
In a world moving at hyperspeed, it’s difficult enough to find a moment to touch into genuine stillness. But even if we do manage to center ourselves in prayer and meditation, how do we remain still and centered throughout the full catastrophe of eac... more
It is easy to assume that we know ourselves. After all, who could be more familiar with me than, well, me? But contemplation teaches us that there are many layers to the self, some superficial, but others so hidden from us that only God can know us a... more

I recently decided to take meditation more seriously and to be more consistent with it, but I needed guidance. I’ve been a fan of Thomas from other podcasts he’s been on so when I saw that he hosted this one, I had to try it. It was exactly what I was looking for. A mix of mindfulness, philosophy, stoicism, practical concepts about connection to your body, and all through a Christ centered lens. I listen to this at night before bed, and it has brought peace to my soul, better sleep, and a feelin... more
It is rare that I write reviews, but this podcast, and specifically Thomas McConkie, has introduced meditation in a way that has really helped me connect more with my Savior Jesus. McConkie’s thoughts and readings calm my mind down in a world full of to do lists, demands, and distractions. Highly recommend this podcast. I listen to it on my morning walks and it helps me sense nature and the world around me in a deeper way. Afterwards, the challenges in my life—still overwhelming—become manageabl... more
I’ve been meditating on and off for the past 8 years sporadically. When I’ve felt drawn to meditate more regularly it does help with my nervous system regulation as someone who more often than not tends to operate from my sympathetic nervous system.
I think Jesus is the definition of having a wide window of tolerance for dysregulating experiences and how easily He was able to come back to his centre and stay regulated in spite of those around him being in their fight or flight mode often. I’ve... more
It’s become a bit of a routine to turn on an episode of one heart one mind every night (being late to the party has its perks I guess). Every time I make time and space to drop in, it’s exactly what I need. It, along with At-one-ment, have guided and expanded my understanding of what meditation can be, and in turn, who I can be through Christ. Thanks a million times.
I’m loving all of Thomas’ meditations and teachings. As an active LDS person, I find these Christian but very non-denominational. The principles are timeless. Thank you Brother McConkie for bringing your being to the world through podcast. 💕
