  • real parenting talk!

Such an insightful conversation on what secure attachment actually looks like in everyday parenting, especially in the moments when things don’t go perfectly. Really enjoyed listening to this discussion and the way it reframed attachment around repair, presence, and regulation rather than perfection, offering a reassuring reminder that growth as a parent is often shaped in those small, imperfect moments that still find their way back to connection.

  • Stop pushing the other podcast

I like the mindful mama podcast but I do not like the Jay Shetty one. Please stop pushing it when you push yours. I tolerated it for months at this point because I thought it was a temporary thing. I will unsubscribe if this doesn’t stop by the end of November 2025.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Your Calm Is Your Child's Best Drug, with Hunter Clarke-Fields
Q: What have you learned about co-regulation in your own family?
Kids model behavior; when parents practice calm presence and mindful listening, children mirror that regulation and bring it into their own interactions, improving the family dynamic.
Your Calm Is Your Child's Best Drug, with Hunter Clarke-Fields
Q: How can a parent interrupt reactive patterns during heated moments?
By recognizing the feeling, removing oneself if necessary, and using simple resources like longer exhales, grounding, or physical resets to calm the body before responding.
Your Calm Is Your Child's Best Drug, with Hunter Clarke-Fields
Q: What does mindfulness mean in practical terms for a parent?
Mindfulness is about bringing attention to the present moment with kindness and curiosity, noticing when the mind wanders, and returning with non-judgmental awareness to what is happening, especially with your child.
Why Smart, Loving Parents Still Lose It (And What That Tells Us) - Cassidy Freitas
Q: You have a way of putting this that I think is really interesting. I'd love for you to share a little bit more about, you talk about reactivity as nervous system wisdom rather than a personal failure. Can you explain this reframe to us?
Reactivity is a normal part of being human and signals data from the nervous system about what's happening around you. Anger can protect vulnerable needs and reveal boundaries or unmet rights. By relating to this part with curiosity and compassion, you can uncover what you truly need and use the information to guide calmer responses.
Breaking the Dopamine Cycle - Michaeleen Doucleff
Q: What is the core misunderstanding about dopamine in kids' daily use of screens?
Dopamine drives desire and motivation, not just pleasure, so kids often chase the next hit of stimulation without true satisfaction; understanding this allows parents to shift from deprivation to offering meaningful alternatives.
