I honestly wanted to give the show a higher rating, but it’s hard to listen to when it feels like you have to stop what you’re doing every 30 seconds to fast forward the ads! I also don’t enjoy how it feels like her questions are edited in after and they don’t use the actual questioning in the interview. I may be wrong on that part, but it often sounds off.
Every season is absolutely excellent!
The story of the Hollywood Ripper is compelling, addictive and above all, stunningly horrific. It chills the soul to know that monsters like the defendant walk among us and are not confined to the page.
It is a bit jarring to hear people be described as “a paranoid schizophrenic” in this day and age. A person has schizophrenia, they are not a “schizophrenic”.
Still a good podcast though.
Strong start (although the host is a little bit boring and cringey), but huge blocks of ads every few minutes mean I won’t be listening through. What an insult to the listener

The show centers on the psychology and investigation surrounding high-profile murder cases, blending expert analysis with first- and secondhand accounts from investigators, attorneys, friends, and family members. Episodes frequently explore how killers operated, the investigative process, and the impact on victims' families, all through the lens of a criminal psychologist who breaks down motive, behavior, and evidence. A standout aspect is the deep-dive, psychological storytelling that pairs case details with interviews, creating a distinctive, sometimes provocative, perspective on true crime in a Hollywood context. Listeners who enjoy rigorous psychological analysis of crime, courtroom dynamics, and investigative nuance will likely find th... more
