  • Love this podcast!

I’m so glad I found this podcast! Since having kids I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with all the ‘stuff’ and find this podcast to be so aspirational and inspirational without judgment. Loved the banter between Lauren and Kelly but they’re also great on their own and I love that they let their guests speak and don’t cut them off like some other interviewers on other podcasts. My favourite podcast to listen to as I fall asleep!

  • Valuable podcast!

I listen often. It helps me to maintain the minimalisms I’ve invited into my life. It’s a bit like church - minimalism is not “one and done”. One must consider to curate one’s life and this podcast supports me in doing that.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Quiet the Mental Noise with Katie McKeown
Q: Could you share how someone who is constantly overthinking and stuck in an anxiety loop can create more mental ease in the moment?
Acknowledge that the brain is wired to seek meaning and safety; slow down the physical state through grounding and controlled breathing, then use internal triage to prioritize what truly needs attention, focusing on one thing at a time to restore energy and clarity.
More Style, Less Stuff with Myquillyn Smith
Q: And so I'm curious, Myquillyn, what is your advice when it comes to starting to decorate a home?
Her advice centers on a three-step approach: pick one room to start, recall what you already love about that room to set a positive baseline, and then design with a forward-looking view—consider how many people will use the space and for what activities—to guide key choices like scale and function.
Less Stuff, More Happiness with Gretchen Rubin
Q: What advice do you give for someone looking to start decluttering their space?
Rubin suggests starting with the area that annoys you the most, as that will provide the greatest lift and motivation to continue clearing clutter.
Less Stuff, More Happiness with Gretchen Rubin
Q: What inspired you to start decluttering your things, and how did your experience influence your happiness?
Gretchen Rubin explains that there is a significant relationship between Outer Order and Inner Calm, where getting control of physical items often makes people feel more in control of their overall lives.
Swedish Death Cleaning with Emily McDermott
Q: What is Swedish death cleaning and how is it different than traditional decluttering?
Emily describes Swedish death cleaning as focusing on the concept of burden, aiming to lessen the load on loved ones by decluttering items with future consideration for them.
