  • Love this podcast!

I’m so glad I found this podcast! Since having kids I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with all the ‘stuff’ and find this podcast to be so aspirational and inspirational without judgment. Loved the banter between Lauren and Kelly but they’re also great on their own and I love that they let their guests speak and don’t cut them off like some other interviewers on other podcasts. My favourite podcast to listen to as I fall asleep!

  • Valuable podcast!

I listen often. It helps me to maintain the minimalisms I’ve invited into my life. It’s a bit like church - minimalism is not “one and done”. One must consider to curate one’s life and this podcast supports me in doing that.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Burnout & Boundaries with Chris Lovett (Pt. 2 of 2)
Q: What about the five-star Waldorf Astoria in the Maldives? Are you gonna do this for all 9,000 properties?
The point system offers flexible options for staying anywhere and anytime, but the guest explains that where you stay matters for getting value, implying that there isn't a blanket guarantee for every property; you should consider how points translate to real experiences and benefits.
What's Essential to You? With Greg McKeown
Q: What are one to two essentialist systems listeners can implement to gain clarity and identify what is most vital?
A core system is asking daily, 'What is the most important thing I need to do today?' and then journaling to capture insights, track time, and reflect on whether planned activities aligned with actual results, enabling continuous adjustment toward essential tasks.
What's Essential to You? With Greg McKeown
Q: How would you describe an essentialist way of life and why is it important?
Essentialism is a mindset that rejects the nonessential habit of trying to do it all; instead, it focuses on a small number of things that matter most, designing one's day, week, and lifestyle around those priorities to achieve meaningful outcomes without burnout.
Quiet the Mental Noise with Katie McKeown
Q: Could you share how someone who is constantly overthinking and stuck in an anxiety loop can create more mental ease in the moment?
Acknowledge that the brain is wired to seek meaning and safety; slow down the physical state through grounding and controlled breathing, then use internal triage to prioritize what truly needs attention, focusing on one thing at a time to restore energy and clarity.
More Style, Less Stuff with Myquillyn Smith
Q: And so I'm curious, Myquillyn, what is your advice when it comes to starting to decorate a home?
Her advice centers on a three-step approach: pick one room to start, recall what you already love about that room to set a positive baseline, and then design with a forward-looking view—consider how many people will use the space and for what activities—to guide key choices like scale and function.
