  • Much room for improvement

Unfortunately, this is a podcast with great potential that fails to deliver all that it could.

Inexplicably, the host does not read the books which are discussed by the author during the interview. As such, there is a disappointing failure to ask pertinent questions which could make the interview so much more interesting. Instead, the host asks a litany of generic questions which fail to get the most out of each topic. At other times, the hosts ask questions which make it patently obvious he is... more

  • Extremely good military history podcast that covers an enormous range

Cris's careful, low-key questioning brings the best out of his interviewees. He's the polar opposite of all those showy, ego-driven, often wildly inaccurate TV historians, and this podcast is all the better for it. The guest authors really shine. I never though I’d encounter Preacher’s Garth Ennis on this kind of pod, but he’s here. And it was great. I’ve listened to topics that range from ancient to cyber warfare and haven’t found a bad one yet.
