  • Terrific Mets podcast

I’m the type of fan that is willing to give any content a try if it’s covering my Mets, and I’m glad I did so with the Mets Fix. I’ve read their newsletter for a few years now and have really enjoyed it, so I was glad when they began a supplementary podcast. The hosts use data to support their arguments for or against a position - and not simply conjecture and pure opinion. Definitely worth subscribing!

Q: What's your grade for the off season?
I would say a B plus.
25. Throwing Away The Season
Q: Why are the Mets not using the pitch out?
The effectiveness of pitch outs has declined due to the decrease in stolen bases, and newer rules limiting step-offs have created an opening for their potential use again.
31. Playoff Position
Q: Should Steve Cohen cave to Nimmo's demands to edit team support or stay the course and let Stearns guide the ship?
Peter believes they should tinker around the edges and go after some relievers but not mortgage the future for marquee players.
33. Discount Shoppers
Q: Did the Mets maybe make a mistake by not leveraging him in a very thin starting pitcher trade market and trade him, given how much people wanted starters and get a huge return?
The Mets are going for it and can't afford to give up starting pitching after losing Senga, which changed their strategy regarding trading Severino.
