周囲は心療内科への受診を勧めますが、これを強く拒否。しかし、一人の友人が「あなたがつらそうに見える」「あなたの話を聴きたいな」と伝えたことで、専門家へ相談するという行動につながりました。
言葉の暴力（言語的虐待）の深刻な影響と、加害者が抱える心理的な背景について深く掘り下げます。
言語による暴力は見えないナイフで相手を切り刻むのと同等です。肉体的な傷が時間と共に癒えるのに対し、心の傷は放置するとさらに悪化する可能性があります。
一方で、言葉の暴力を振るう加害者は、その言葉の威力を誰よりも知っています。過去に言語的暴力を受けた経験をもつ場合が多いと考えます。加害者は、自身の癒されていない心の苦しみを埋め合わせようとして、他者に暴力を振るうパターンに陥っているのかもしれません。
私たちが感じる苦痛を四つの異なるカテゴリーに分類して考察します。誰もが理解しやすい身体的な痛みを原点としつつ、精神的な痛み、社会的な痛み、そして魂の痛みの四種を提示ました。
特に、悲しみや喪失感といった精神的な痛みを無視する、抑圧することが重大な問題です。なぜなら、この精神的な苦痛を適切に認識しない場合、肉体的な疾患や、人間関係における社会的な苦悩へと発展し、深刻化する可能性があるからです。
