Two crime fiction authors host a cinephile-leaning show that digs into classic and contemporary film and TV through rigorous analysis, thoughtful debates, and guest expert perspectives. Episodes span film noir, retcons, and genre-shaping classics, with a penchant for tying literature, production history, and pop culture impact to fresh takes. Noteworthy is the hosts' dual emphasis on close-textual readings and broader cultural context, plus occasional rebrands and crossovers that broaden the show's scope without losing its signature investigative rhythm.
