  • Don’t work with her

This book “supporter” has trashed hundreds of authors’ books. She’ll happily take your money, but do your research and see how little she values the hard work of writing a book. There’s a reason my publisher advised against working with her. Truly appalling.

  • New here!

I’m a long time insta follower but new to your podcast. My first listen was your deeply personal Jan 2026 episode and I’m here for good! I’ve had a similar church life situation. Thank you for sharing your experiences so thoughtfully and meaningfully - I was in tears a few times, so many of us mamas can relate and just want to do right by our kids and raise them in a loving, accepting, encouraging family. Love this podcast so far and can’t wait to get into the new year and all these fun books wi... more

  • Extremely Helpful!!!

I really appreciate having a podcast like hers for book recs and even hearing about the negative reviews too. Meghan’s book summaries are clear and concise, and since finding her podcast, I’ve been far more successful with choosing audiobooks I truly like… Thanks to her! Also, I must add that her author interviews are enjoyable and give me a better sense of who the author actually is and their motivation for writing the story.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

121: Chat with Marie Benedict
Q: How did the dual timeline impact the themes you wanted to explore, such as ownership of artifacts and national identity?
The dual timeline enabled me to connect the ancient world with modern debates, illustrating that questions of who owns the past and who gets to tell it are still very timely, and it gave room to reflect on how histories are shaped by those with power.
121: Chat with Marie Benedict
Q: What drew you to tell the story of Hatshepsut and how did you approach balancing historical fidelity with fiction?
I was fascinated by her erasure and wanted to bring her back into history through a narrative that respects the archaeological record while allowing creative exploration, especially with the support of an Egyptologist who helped me choose credible paths when the evidence wasn't decisive.
115: Chat with Tracy Sierra
Q: What inspired Warning Signs?
The inspiration came from a mix of personal背景—growing up in Colorado, backcountry experiences, and a background in law and investigations—to craft a story where psychological insight and a child's viewpoint drive the tension.
115: Chat with Tracy Sierra
Q: What is this book about?
Warning Signs follows a 12-year-old named Zach on a father-son backcountry retreat in snowy Colorado as he confronts dangerous surroundings and troubling adults, using a child's perspective to uncover unsettling truths.
111: Chat with Catherine Newman
Q: If somebody is listening and they have this dream to write, do you have any advice?
Catherine emphasizes the importance of honesty in writing, suggesting that writers examine their work for places that might seem too neat or compacted and explore deeper layers of truth.
