  • Painful

This podcast hasn’t been enjoyable for almost a year now. What really ruins the show for myself and others is Katy, it’s clear the character development of the show was to center Katy and have Adam and Colbie as side characters to her “influencer life”. When in reality Katy’s life falls quite fall and short of glamorous and barely more than meek and boring. Her desperate attempt at claiming she has a hard and demanding career while on a podcast with two career orienteered professionals is so pat... more

  • Bully energy

In early episodes, I found that the three gave really helpful, nuanced dating advice. I don’t feel that as much now. What stands out more to me is Katy often putting Adam down. Katy seems to wait to jump on any of Adam’s minor mistakes—mispronunciations, mixing up cultural references, feigning total shock that he may not share a cultural touchstone from childhood, etc. It comes across as mean but also almost definitely comes from jealousy of Adam’s intelligence in areas that actually matter. • Please stop the white lies

KATY you embarrassed me at work for your random dumbness.

You said that Michaels was going bankrupt, and then doubled down saying your boyfriend was in the industry and confirmed it (passing along this white lie for no reason).

I listened to the episode, and then i used Michaels and what was supposed to be a passing example in a work conversation… LOL Michaels is actually thriving, and buying their competitors…and not going bankrupt.

I know this is so petty but KATY I THOUGHT YOU WERE THIS ... more

Prom?
Q: Hi Katy, Colbie and Adam. Long time listener of the pod. I'm a 26 year old in DC who recently attended a matchmaking event and asked for advice on dating after speed dating, with some struggle about communication and exclusivity. What's the best way to bring up how you feel after a first few dates when you're seeing someone else, and how do you balance friends' opinions with your own timeline?
The panel suggests not overcommitting too early and to use apps to meet new people while you assess compatibility; if you've seen red flags like not meeting expectations or seeing them with someone else, it's reasonable to pull back and test interest by continuing with other dates. They emphasize clear communication about exclusivity when the relationship has progressed, and they advise keeping a record of concerns and following up gradually instead of rushing conclusions.
Shut up and eat your dinner
Q: How do you manage it all?
You need to find something that excites you in the routine, like I really enjoy going to Barry's.
Botox and blizzards
Q: How do you know it wasn't a date?
Although it felt like a date, the friend is engaged, making it more of a platonic date.
Read between the lines
Q: What would you guys do about attending two weddings on the same day?
The hosts unanimously agree that the listener should attend the friend's wedding as it sounds more fun and offers stronger personal connections than the family wedding.
Corner booth make out
Q: Is my new friend crossing the copying line?
The hosts discuss the concerns around a friend who imitates her style and purchases, asserting that while it feels uncomfortable, her friend's actions may stem from admiration and a desire for validation.
