  • Informative Fun

I’ve been listening since this podcast launched and I’m a big fan. As the series continues, you start to grow along with LG & Robert and their nerdy jokes get funnier and funnier (that or quarantine is just getting to me). The length is good — not so long to make you fall asleep, but not too short to leave out pertinent information. My one critique is the app design update—it used to be a fun bright blue and modern logo, and now it’s a generic dark blue; a bit boring and what you’d expect from a... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Trends in market structure: digital assets edition (June 2, 2026)
Q: At the highest level, what are we actually talking about when we talk about tokenization and digital assets?
Tokenization represents the digital packaging of ownership on a blockchain, where the underlying asset remains the same but the rails—how ownership is tracked, transferred, and settled—become faster, cheaper, and more programmable.
Around the world: war in Iran and the global economy (April 27, 2026)
Q: could you characterize how this scenario is playing out into your case for Europe this year?
Europe faces a delicate balance where higher energy costs feed into inflation and slow growth, but the region has mitigated some exposure through diversified energy sources, LNG imports, and a more cautious fiscal stance, which should cushion the macro path though the environment remains highly uncertain.
Around the world: war in Iran and the global economy (April 27, 2026)
Q: what stands out as the most important impact of this conflict?
The most important impact is the energy shock that translates into higher prices and a tax-like effect on both consumers and businesses, which can slow demand and influence inflation and growth trajectories across regions.
The macro impact of AI, with special guest Steve Friedman (April 20, 2026)
Q: Is there anything that would change your mind about AI's macro impact over the next 12 to 18 months?
The guest cautions that while optimism about technology is warranted, near-term effects depend on how quickly AI displaces or augments labor and how policymakers respond, with a careful watch on productivity gains and inflation signals.
The macro impact of AI, with special guest Steve Friedman (April 20, 2026)
Q: Do you have any thoughts that link AI's impact, inflation, and policy?
Friedman highlights that AI-driven productivity can influence inflation through multiple channels, and that monetary policy may shift in response to these dynamics; ongoing uncertainty about the policy stance and the timing of rate changes is emphasized.
