I'm new to the audio drama scene, this is only my second horror one, and I am so glad this is part of my introduction! Just completed the first season and I'm eager to dive into the rest!
So I’m only on season 1. But the voice actor for the thing that took over Arthur is sending me 🙃 the constant noise of the groan tube/noise stick behind his every word in the background is SOOOOO AGGRAVATING. Idk if I’ll make it past season 1 which sucks because the storyline seems good. It’s really so annoying. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
this is the most gripping lovecraftian audio dramas ive listened to. I started this journey with Arthur Lester what feels like and probably is years ago and to finally end this story os bittersweet. cant wait to see whats next
I really, really wanted to love this AD. Occult detective fiction with Lovecraft? And that in a sort of buddy drama? But after a really strong start, the show falls flat. Every episode feels the same with nonstop action that it becomes tiring because the characters are not getting interesting. And I don't really see much creepy Lovecraft or tension in what's real or not, but only an underused idea of an unreliable narrator that could've worked greatly. One of the biggest disappointments!
found malevolent last year after finishing welcome to night vale and camp here and there, and when i tell you this is THE best horror fiction podcast out there, i mean it. it’s SO crazy that everything is just done by harlan guthrie—a man of so so so many talents. listened to the entire first season (and half of the second) in one night, i don’t even think i slept. i just finished the very last episode and oh my god, the amount of times ive cried over these two is truly terrifying. 10000/10, wou... more
