  • Ralph is awesome!

Here is the question: if you had to sit next to either Ralph or Martin on a six hour flight, who would you sit next to?

Hint: Martin… slow down , talk less, and actually try to listen to what Ralph is saying.

  • Great

Very good podcast with cool banter and tech details, Marton needs to stop talking over Ralph however, then it would be perfect!

  • Show is great!

This show is great and very entertaining when on topic. However shorter podcasts with more focused topics are always better than running a timer to determine length of the show. My opinion there’s too much off topic discussion at times. Keep up the good work!

Talking new Polerouters with Adam Hambly
Q: Do you feel accomplished with what came out of the advisory process for the relaunch?
Yes, after initial hesitations, the team aligned on a path that preserved the brand's character while delivering a cohesive, market-ready collection with a warranty and modern practicality, which felt like a successful compromise between nostalgia and contemporary expectations.
Talking new Polerouters with Adam Hambly
Q: What was the single biggest argument or disagreement between the vintage-collector mindset and the modern-money-making mindset?
The largest clash centered on whether the relaunch should prioritize a manual-wind chronograph versus automatics and how to justify pricing for a new watch when vintage options could be bought cheaper; ultimately, the group argued and negotiated towards a balance between authentic vintage character and modern usability, including size and movement decisions.
Talking new Polerouters with Adam Hambly
Q: Did you get access to the original Universal Geneve archives, or did you have to dig them up yourselves?
Access was limited before the Brightling takeover; archives existed but were managed by a single office in Geneva and often not comprehensive. After Brightling acquired UG, archival access improved, allowing for broader documentation of references, calibers, and production details.
Talking AP with Sebastian Vivas - Updated Audio
Q: So hello, hello, and welcome to the Leuchtmasse and Lume Plotters Podcast. Today, I'm graced with the presence of Sebastian Vivas. Please introduce yourself and what you're doing and which brand you're working for.
Sebastian Vivas introduces himself as the director of the Audemars Piguet Heritage and Museum, confirming his role and long-standing involvement with AP as a historian.
Navigating the Future of Watch Brands with Robert Bailey
Q: How does Laurent see utilizing modern innovative technologies like a silicon hairspring or other things like that?
Laurent has a very traditional view on watchmaking but is open to using modern materials to enhance stability and performance without compromising the aesthetic and craftsmanship.
