  • A treat

This is a beautifully crafted podcast. The interviews, the scenes, the song selection.. I love it. For us fanatics that already know every single thing about Sondheim’s work, it’s exciting to have these new and untold personal stories about the man behind all that work. Thank you

  • Full of anecdotes but lacking real insight.

This podcast is filled with interesting anecdotes. It includes strange and off putting reenactments that would have been better left out completely. It’s definitely worth a listen to any Sondheim die hard’s. However, it’s lacking any real insights. Basically two insights so far - Sondheim enjoyed camp and gossip and he was more down-to-earth than his fans would have assumed.

One major plus is the effort put into sharing music never released before. Just for that it is worth a listen.

  • Those reenactments…

Wonderful material undercut by a too busy musical soundtrack and unnecessary reenactments. The overloaded soundtrack often overpowers the terrific interviews.

Still, catnip for Stephen Sondheim fans

  • LOVE this podcast but…

First off, this is a beautiful, thoughtful and wonderful podcast. Thank you for giving us the chance to get to know the real Sondheim. However, it can be extremely hard to hear the guests. I am so thankful there’s a transcript for every episode as I usually miss about 60% of the episode. I can hear the hosts and background music very well.
