  • Embarrassing Questions

I love this Talking Pictures podcast. Silent pictures are just so slow. Love Ben interviewing the Hollywood crowd. He's really the best interviewer. He asks meaningful questions, shares insightful observations, but what I like best of all is when he asks, as only he can, those embarrassing questions. And he knows what they are. I guess when you're born with a Golden Mank in your mouth, you can ask those embarrassing questions while perched way up high on Mount Olympus and get away with it.

  • Great presenting style

I enjoy his voice but more importantly I love the enthusiasm this podcast has for the pictures, both classics and contemporary. They have access to great filmmakers and I wished TCM was available in the uk

  • I feel like I’m with friends

If you love movies and talking about them, relishing the smallest details, or if you speak the secret language of film quotes, then push aside what you’re doing and toss a listen to Ben and his guests. It’s a shame we haven’t gotten any new episodes of this show for a year now…a painful, sleep disrupting, shame.

Hiro Murai
Q: When did your collaboration with Donald Glover start, and how did it evolve into your work together?

Susan Sarandon
Q: What was it like filming Thelma & Louise and fighting for the ending?
She explains the process of negotiating the ending with Ridley Scott, the teamwork with the cast, and the importance of the ending as a release and iconic moment rather than a tragedy.
Susan Sarandon
Q: How did you approach the casting and development process for Bull Durham, and what happened with the Annie role?
She describes reading the script, the producer dynamics, and how she ended up in the film after a series of casting decisions, including reading with Kevin Costner and the director, with discussions about age and fit influencing the path to the role.
Susan Sarandon
Q: What is your most memorable movie watching experience?
Susan recalls being traumatized by certain films, mentioning Jaws and others as experiences that left a strong impression and stayed with her.
Sally Field
Q: What was the moment when you decided to pursue Lincoln, and how did the Mary Lincoln casting come together?
