  • So relatable

As someone who is constantly overextending myself to take care of others, I found this show so incredibly helpful! I loved the episode on being kind vs codependent. It resonated a lot with me and made me realize I need to make some changes. Definitely will be listening to more episodes!

  • Great advice for non-moms too!

I’m not a mom but I do tend to overextend myself with friends, family & co-workers due to the perception that I have more time & energy without kids. Susie’s episode about “caring for everyone but yourself” felt like a deep inhale & exhale - realizing that self neglect and putting our needs last can also put our own health at risk. This podcast is so empowering and educational!

How To Stop Ruminating
Q: What if I don't believe my new thought after choosing a different way to think?
That's common; use a bridge thought as a mini step toward the new belief, and seek shorter, believable intermediate thoughts to gradually shift your mindset until the new thought feels credible.
How To Stop Ruminating
Q: Listener says I feel on edge and hyper aware of what everyone is doing all day. Is this ruminating and how do I stop it?
Yes, that constant buzzing is a form of rumination tied to thinking and feeling overwhelmed; the recommended approach is to set an alarm to prompt awareness, then assess what you're thinking and how it makes you feel to begin breaking the pattern.
Strength and Mobility for Midlife Women
Q: With your six-part framework in mind, where should a listener start if they're a beginner?
Start with assessing movement and choosing a simple daily activity, like 10 minutes of movement, then gradually add a basic strength routine that covers lower body, upper body, and core. The goal is to create a sustainable habit before diving into more complex or high-intensity movements.
The Bedroom Gap with Dr. Maria Sophocles
Q: What can women do to start reclaiming their sexual pleasure?
Women should know what brings them pleasure and practice communication with their partners.
The Bedroom Gap with Dr. Maria Sophocles
Q: Can you share what inspired you to write the Bedroom Gap?
I came up with the concept after hearing about the orgasm gap and noticing women feeling broken or disconnected from their sexual desires.
