  • Used to be good

This used to be a good listen, but the last couple of seasons have been rubbish. The guests are one dimensional: boring, posh and very rarely are they actually even Londoners (hence why they know virtually nothing of any interest or significance about the areas they’re supposedly showing us around). The areas visited are often dull, a bit like timeout these days….yawn

This used to be quite a good listen but the last couple of seasons have been rubbish. The guests are one dimensional: boring, posh and very rarely are they actual Londoners (which explains why they know nothing about the areas they’re in). The areas visited are dull as ditchwater too. Yawn…but like timeout these days

  • Really love this podcast

It’s funny, informative, and a genuinely immersive way to experience parts of London that dont always get top billing in mainstream travel media. The presenter, Joe Mackertich, is great at striking a rapport with guests, balancing his own personality with allowing the guests to be themselves, tell stories about ‘their’ favourite bits of London. If you love London, this will 100% make you smile. Highly recommend!

Ep 43: Huge Davies in Wapping
Q: What's your favorite memory or feature from the stop at The Prospect of Whitby?
He highlights the pub's historic vibe and the visual of the noose post by the water, using it to anchor the episode's pirate theme and the sense of historical spectacle.
Ep 43: Huge Davies in Wapping
Q: What made you choose this area as a location?
Huge explains his fascination with the edge-of-water spaces, maritime history, and the lived-in character of Whopping and Shadwell, which balance danger, nostalgia, and daily life in a way that suits his comedy.
Ep 40: Emmanuel Sonubi in Enfield
Q: What was it like to nearly die?
He describes heart failure in Dubai, the inability to breathe, coughing up blood, and the fear of dying, followed by the relief of making it home and the long process of recovery, which led to a deeper appreciation for life.
Ep 37: Daniel Foxx in Fulham
Q: What kind of dog do you have?
He is half chow chow and half French bulldog, which is a strange combo and very cute, but has all the worst qualities of both.
Ep 37: Daniel Foxx in Fulham
Q: Why did you choose Fulham?
I lived in Fulham and around Fulham when I first moved to London, and I did a good sort of six, seven years here, so I just sort of have a lot of formative years here, I think.
