BACK IN 2022... we recorded another ride-along. And this one is a real roller-coaster. (The emotional kind. We remained safely in the car throughout). The loreboys went to Leicester for an awards ceremony and (spoiler alert) came back empty-hearted.... more

Happened upon this fantastic, hilarious, and warm-hearted podcast — they beep out the profanity, if that kind of thing bothers you (or you have young kids) — while hunting for info on the lore of the Rollright Stones, which my family visited last summer.
As an expat now living in the U.S., I love hearing the accents — real and imitated — and the blend of humor and history/folklore is right up my alley.

Fantastic new episode to kick off a chilly (and dare I say chilling) 2026!
I’ve been listening for years, and I still get excited whenever a new episode pops into my feed. The podcast consists of light-hearted tellings of local (almost exclusively UK) folklore stories, mostly old, some more recent.
Charming and quite funny hosts who have a great chemistry. Both are very quick witted and play off of each other’s riffs very effectively.
Bonus: As a US listener, you get to learn a lot of UK terms and phrasing, plus occasional baffling Welsh pronunciation lessons.
Ask this year comes to a close, my hope is an early return of the Christmas pig.
I started listening and really enjoyed the banter and stories. They lost me when they started in with the politics. I listen to escape the 24 hour news cycle.

A folkloric history and comedy show where two hosts explore local legends and obscure folklore with sharp banter, playful skepticism, and lots of storytelling. Episodes pivot between deep dives into places, figures, and regional myths and light riffs on pop culture, often blending historical context with entertaining misdirection. The format frequently features improvised conversations, guest experts, and recurring running gags, making niche lore accessible and entertaining for listeners who enjoy witty dialogue, UK-centered folklore, and curious investigations into how stories evolve over time.
Notable strengths include strong chemistry between the hosts, a clear affection for regional legends, and a knack for turning meticulous research ... more
