Each series gets better and better. This is fast becoming one of the best podcasts around. Great variety of guests & really relatable. Have picked up lots of great horror tips.
What the hell happened?
Four stars overall as it’s still an OK listen but the series 3 ‘revamp’ just isn’t as good. Dave B leaving (for what reason?) and lots of lacklustre guests who are either too young for the eras the books cover or just come up with the same old thing. It’s great that Dave is still there but often he almost seems sidelined with his references just too old for the guests to get. Also, special mention for the absolutely dreadful new theme music, voice over and graphic.
First two series were hilarious, irreverent, bonkers stream of conscious fanzine's. I couldn't wait until the next episode and then finally after 16 months or so, a 2nd series! and then a couple of weeks after it ended...a 3rd series SO SOON?! how exciting!
I'm pretty deflated by this new series; it's gone a bit pro and polished and the majority of "scars" seem as though the guests have compared previous series (and the books?) and struggled to find anything truly morbid.

This is generally really good and brings back so many memories. Most episodes are an absolute joy. Can sometimes feel a bit rushed and would have benefited by giving some guests a bit. more time, feels like there is someone there with a stopwatch sometimes. I notice that the guests have been a bit more well known lately, this is good as long as the guest is relevant and isn’t so young as to be off the wavelength of the show.
