  • Great Podcast

Remi is a wealth of information and experience. He provides great content and his hunt stories are detailed and fun to listen to. I would like to see Remi add some guests to his podcasts as it would make it a little more interesting and provide more than one point of view on topics that Remi covers. Keep up the great work!

  • First BUCK thx to REMI

I am 17 and had drawn a tag in a unit I had only hunted once before. I had never before harvested a desert Mule deer buck, and was determined to do everything in my power to increase my chances. I began to binge listen to all the episodes about glassing, the rut, and mule deer tactics. Putting all his advice to use, on opening day it all payed off, and I harvested my first buck!

  • Mid day madness

Great content. This podcast was very influential in me getting a mature elk in Colorado on the 3rd day of my hunt DIY solo first time elk hunting. I put to practice a lot of what I learned. I chased after bedded bulls and had 3 encounters finally sealing the deal on a beautiful 6x6

Q: How many hunts does he typically do in a year and how does that break down between self-guided and guiding for others?
He ranges from about five of his own hunts in the fall to around 15 other hunts, with additional spring bear hunts and international trips, totaling roughly 20-30 hunts in a busy year depending on opportunities.
Ep. 224 | Live From The Hunt Expo
Q: What are the practical considerations for elk bullets—copper vs bonded—and which does he prefer?
He prefers bonded bullets for elk due to penetration and energy transfer, noting that copper bullets can fail or mushroom differently at high velocity, but that the best choice depends on the animal and shot placement; he emphasizes using a bullet that holds together and penetrates well.
Ep. 224 | Live From The Hunt Expo
Q: What are the three most rewarding fundamental rules for being sneaky?
The three rules are to choose the best approach rather than the easiest path, to get much lower than you think you need to be, and to cut noise by taking off footwear or moving quietly, with deliberate, low-profile movements.
Ep. 207 | Live Wild Call in Q & A
Q: How long do you stay in one spot glassing before you like move on to another spot?
With Coos deer, I'll spend a lot longer at a good vantage point since they're harder to spot and might surprise you when you least expect it.
Ep. 207 | Live Wild Call in Q & A
Q: What tips or tricks do you have to call in cows or to sneak in on the cows better?
Cows are easier to sneak up on than bulls; use a lost calf sound to attract them back if you bump them.
