Charles assumes he has enough of a grasp on literature to start a podcast. Charles has also never read O’Toole, Bukowski or Sartre (who he assumes is probably “pretentious”, despite Charlie himself being pretentious enough to have a jazz intro and a MidModern thumbnail. Also despite Sartre being one of the foremost philosophers of the 20th century). This is a facepalm in podcast form. Avoid!

  • Excellent podcast

I love this podcast and @litwithcharles on Instagram. He is responsible for getting me into the reading lane again. Very wide ranging discussions but so helpful in pointing out specific books to read. I recommend listening to any one of the podcasts to get an idea of what he does.

  • a delight

I am so enjoying this podcast, which feels like a lovely insight into someone’s reading life. Instead of the latest heavily marketed release, Charles seeks out people who have written books that have caught his interest, and these fascinating conversations are the result. Every ep. I come away with books to add to my TBR. A delight.
