  • An absolute lifeline

I really can’t say enough good things about this podcast. Diving into the lipedema world is so overwhelming. These ladies provide valuable information that is clear and easy to implement. But more than that, they make me feel like I’m not alone on this journey. Thank you for putting your hearts into this work. I am truly grateful.

  • Great source of information!

When I first started diving down the lipedema rabbit hole, I came across the lipedema mama’s podcast and immediately was drawn in. Ashley and Shawn or so down to earth and so relatable. I feel like I am sitting on the patio with them having a conversation. The speakers they have interviewed have given me so much information in which to navigate this new revelation of a lipedema diagnosis. Thank you so much for raising awareness and helping so many of us understand lipedema..

  • Excellent content

Content and hosts are great! So much helpful information!

However the podcast quality is rough. Speech cuts out all the time and the ads cut into the middle of a question.

Wish it was more pleasant to listen to because I have learned a lot!

  • One big ad with medical misinformation

I gave this podcast 2 tries. It appears to be a running ad for products and services as there are ads at the beginning and in the middle of the podcast: very disingenuous. Also, it appears a couple guests recommend doing what you want and avoiding advice from medical professionals. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of the one guest who had her lipedema fitness program…that is very sad and unfortunate news. However, listening to her podcast and looking up her instagram, I found little ... more

  • Super informative

I really love this podcast. I’ve learnt so much from Shawn and Ashley. One star taken because the quality of the recording is hard to listen to sometimes. Some episodes sound like everyone has a lisp.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Getting Back to the Basics w/ FNP Brad Fisher
Q: What would you say to all of these ladies who think they have to chase the right diet and tool before starting to manage Lipedema?
Brad emphasizes starting with the basics—sleep, nutrition, hydration, and physical activity—then gradually adding tools that fit one's life, rather than chasing every new supplement or therapy all at once.
Ehlers Danlos and Lipedema
Q: What ongoing support does the Ehlers-Danlos Society offer to patients?
Educational programs for clinicians (ECHO), patient resources with lay terms, biobank and research participation opportunities, and a directory to find practitioners with awareness of EDS/HSD.
Ehlers Danlos and Lipedema
Q: Where should someone start the diagnosis process?
Begin with a general practitioner, use the diagnostic checklist and Bateson scoring, and seek referrals to specialists such as genetics, rheumatology, or vascular/other relevant fields depending on the suspected type; the key is to assemble a knowledgeable care team.
Ehlers Danlos and Lipedema
Q: Do you feel like if someone is hearing some of these signs and symptoms and going, oh, that may be something, how important is it for them to seek out a diagnosis?
It's very important because diagnosis validates their experience, enables better advocacy with their medical team, and guides the appropriate care pathway, though the process can vary by country and type of EDS or Lipedema.
Not Waiting on Lipedema to Live Life Fully w/ Tanya Holloway
Q: What has Tanya been focused on lately within the Lipedema community?
She has been advancing advocacy through the American Lipedema Association, growing state-based support groups, promoting awareness during Lipedema Awareness Month, and encouraging more inclusive representation.
