  • Great

Trump is a comic book villain who would have never been taken seriously by an educated electorate. Lever Time does the best it can to keep listeners engaged, and is an antidote to the Trump plague. David Sirota is very serious and deserves to be heard. He supports Bernie Sanders, our only trustworthy politician of this century? Great.

  • Maybe interview more women sometimes

I just scrolled through all guests and from the look of it they’re all men, with the exception of Julie K. Brown, on to talk about Epstein. It’s always so weird when shows do that, like you really could only find one chick to talk to? Ok. I like this podcast but that is such a weird choice for a progressive show.

  • More Leftist Commentary

Sorry to say, but this newscast is not much different in tone and content than what is already pushed out on the 5 major media networks that support the Democratic Party and in particular, self-acknowledged Communist Bernie Sanders. It’s far too left leaning for my news needs and interests, and does little to promote a good working relationship, non-biased discussion, and compromise within our government.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Who Sold America On The Iran War? (With Hooman Majd & Ryan Grim)
Q: Who stands to gain from the escalation, and what role do lobbying groups play?
The discussion points to complex incentives among foreign actors and domestic lobbies, including pro-Israel advocacy and dark money networks, which may push for aggressive stances; these dynamics shape political calculations in Congress and within the administration.
Who Sold America On The Iran War? (With Hooman Majd & Ryan Grim)
Q: What are the real endgame scenarios for this war, and what could stop it?
Several possibilities are outlined, including shifting public support, diplomatic breakthroughs or failures, or escalation into broader conflicts; the uncertain endgame is framed by uncertain political signals, leadership decisions, and external pressures from allies and adversaries alike.
The Court Disarmed Trump’s Tariff Weapon. Who Will Pay? (With Lori Wallach)
Q: What kind of wiggle room will Trump or future presidents have after this ruling?
They can still use other statutory authorities like Section 122, 301, and 232 with more process and better checks and balances, but not IEPA; this implies a shift toward more predictable, legislatively balanced tariff policy.
The Court Disarmed Trump’s Tariff Weapon. Who Will Pay? (With Lori Wallach)
Q: When we talk about refunds, what are we talking about here? Does that mean the government's going to have to cut a check to specific companies?
Refunds could be issued through various customs mechanisms like preference programs, but the process is chaotic and uneven, with some companies getting windfalls while many consumers and small businesses may not see direct relief; in practice, refunds could flow back to companies rather than consumers.
He Sent One Email. Then Federal Agents Came To His Door.
Q: What happened next after he sent the email?
The government started to investigate him, and he was notified that his data was requested by a government agency, and he had to seek a court order to stop compliance.
