  • Slow monotone, look alive!

This podcast, The Drop Site, The Intercept, are actually very interesting, BUT, ALL THE PEOPLE TALKING IN AAAAAAALL of them seem to be falling ASLEEP!!!! I don’t know! Drink a coffee or something, all in a monotone, very soft, slow and mellow…. PLEASE! I can’t make such an effort to survive the soothing mood that bore me to death in order to try to hear the information you have.

  • Liberal imperialist

“Regime” “Regime” “Regime” while STILL peddling the lies about Iranian government killing tens of thousands during the riot (not protest). They published the names of those died in the riot, where is the evidence of yours?

Also, not a single word on the horrendous war crimes committed by USrael but endless speculation on this already demonized nation.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Will The Strait Of Hormuz Sink The American Empire? (With Daniel Bessner & Derek Davison)
Q: What are you optimistic about?
They express optimism about a potential 2028 realignment away from asset-holding capitalism, potential drawdown of bases, and a shift toward less militarized governance, hoping for systemic reforms that improve people's lives.
Will The Strait Of Hormuz Sink The American Empire? (With Daniel Bessner & Derek Davison)
Q: Danny, what do you think about the idea of the so-called realignment where there are MAGA conservatives who are not neocons?
The guests discuss that neoconservatism remains influential within the Republican Party and that some MAGA figures may resist or alter traditional neocon policies, but the overall trend is toward a complex fusion of hawkish tendencies with populist legitimacy rather than a clean realignment.
Will The Strait Of Hormuz Sink The American Empire? (With Daniel Bessner & Derek Davison)
Q: Are we at war or not? Like, are we currently at war? Are we not at war?
We are obviously at war; the U.S. is blockading Iran, which constitutes an act of war under many definitions, so the conflict has continued in a non-kinetic form with similar strategic aims.
Tom Steyer Opposed Single-Payer Health Care. Now He’s Running On It.
Q: Why switch from opposing Medicare for All to backing single-payer in California?
He explains it as a realization that private sector cost-cutting didn't work historically and that single-payer could achieve similar health outcomes at a lower cost, based on international comparisons.
Tom Steyer Opposed Single-Payer Health Care. Now He’s Running On It.
Q: What should we make of the claim that self-financed candidates are immune from corruption?
Steyer pushes back, saying Citizens United changed the playing field and that even wealthy candidates rely on broad support from working people, and he highlights the need to challenge powerful interests while remaining accountable.
