  • The soothing monotone is unbearable

This podcast, The Drop Site, The Intercept, are actually very interesting, BUT, ALL THE PEOPLE TALKING IN AAAAAAALL of them seem to be falling ASLEEP!!!! I don’t know! Drink a coffee or something, all in a monotone, very soft, slow and mellow…. PLEASE! I can’t make such an effort to survive the soothing mood that bore me to death in order to try to hear the information you have.

  • Giggling to warcrimes?

Could not stand the latest episode, where the female co-moderator was constantly giggling and laughing while reporting on war and death.. completley inappropriate. They could also upgrade the quality of theier mics.

  • Real News, No Nonsense

This is one of the only places to find real news and real reporting on world events. No imperialist or war-mongering spin. They tell you the facts, as they are, without the white-washing you’ll find on mainstream news networks in the US.

  • Clear and Concise

I appreciate The Intercept Review because it is direct to the point and succinct. It does not endlessly belabor information and perspectives that it has already put forth., like many podcasts. Great reporting!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Democratic Party Gets Its Populist Takeover
Q: Can you explain the left's current organizational split between the DSA and Working Families Party and why it matters for upcoming elections?
The DSA emphasizes grassroots, member-driven decision making with a class-focused approach, while the Working Families Party tends to be more top-down in endorsements; together they push for a broader populist agenda but may differ in messaging and political alignment, affecting how voters perceive candidates and how campaigns coordinate across the left.
Trump’s Communist Boogeyman Playbook: Charging Protesters as Terrorists
Q: You discussed your testimony and consultancy in the Prairieland case; what was that experience like given the trial context?
Consultation involved reviewing radical literature and considering expert perspectives remotely; the involvement underscores how scholars can become entangled in political prosecutions without direct participation in activities.
Trump’s Communist Boogeyman Playbook: Charging Protesters as Terrorists
Q: Why does the administration want to convince the public that Antifa is a domestic terrorist organization, and what does that mean for dissent?
Antifa functions as a flexible bogeyman that helps construct a narrative of an internal enemy; the goal is to legitimize harsher responses to left-leaning activism while obscuring the varied, decentralized nature of anti-fascist organizing.
Trump’s Communist Boogeyman Playbook: Charging Protesters as Terrorists
Q: Mark, can you give your reaction to the charges and the sentencing in the Prairieland case?
The sentencing is egregious because it treats non-violent, even if controversial, expression as a form of terrorism, reflecting a broader strategy to label opposition as conspiratorial and dangerous.
The People Who Stood By Graham Platner — Until He Was Accused of Rape
Q: So how did Platner get away with all of those blemishes for so long? And what does this mean for Democrats chances in Maine?
Adam Carlson explains that Platner's outsider appeal and early momentum were undermined by a rapid cascade of revelations, with insiders now evaluating how the party vetting and messaging can adapt in a high-stakes race, recognizing that authenticity alone may not sustain support.
