  • What a quality show

The 5 stars comes directly from the episode where you described how to tell someone they don’t meet your minimums. What solid, empathetic, long-range wisdom advice!

  • Episode 142 is the holy grail!

Just listened to episode 142 where Carl goes through His magic questions!

In my opinion, this is by far the best episode as there were so many amazing questions that we can start using today with our clients to get a real insight into our client's financial mindset. Thanks again to Carl and Michael.

  • A must listen for advisors

This may be the most insightful and helpful podcast for advisors. There are others out there that are good, but they tend to be somewhat dogmatic and can often go on much too long. These two outstanding professionals come at the profession from very different perspectives, but I learn something I can use in almost every podcast. I can’t thank them enough for what they give to me as an advisor who is always looking to improve what I do for clients.

  • Great podcast, especially for a new financial advisor

I found this podcast to be very helpful as I continue growing my practice, especially after coming from an institutional background. A couple of months ago, I started with the first episode and listened to every single one on my daily walk. Now I have to wait 2 weeks for a new one!

Focus on three main levers: sustain strong cash flow, ensure client and advisor transferability, and build scalable systems and documentation. A lot of that confidence built over time as feedback from audiences and results became evident.

Q: If I'm one of these younger associated advisors that wants to buy a firm, where are the one to three best places to educate myself?
The primary two places would be two good books that provide a very good education around valuation: 'How to Value, Buy or Sell a Financial Advisory Practice' by Mark Taberjian and Owen Dahl, and 'Buying, Selling, and Valuing Financial Practices' by David Grau Sr.
