Everything that held the North back on a national level – coaches, the geography of talent, and attitudes about how college football should be treated – seems to have leveled out. When Ohio State faced Notre Dame in Atlanta at the end of the 2024 sea... more
It's finally here, the episode of The 25 Year Winter where we get into the South's (sometimes alleged, sometimes well-documented) rule-breaking as it took over college football.
But it's not just that. In Episode 4 of our five-part series, Doug Lesm... more
It's a draft of Heisman Trophy contenders on Kings of the North, as Doug Lesmerises and Bill Landis are joined by Ari Wasserman and Andy Staples of On3 to pick 12 Heisman contenders. Each of the four drafters picks two favorites, one medium long shot... more

I feel like I’m in an abusive relationship with Doug because he pisses me off but I always come back no matter what show he’s doing. He’s just the best podcaster on the Osu/ greater big ten beat. He’s driving Midwest football right now. He’s always been an innovator in a world where everyone else does the same 3 pods on repeat every week.
To say the 5 part series was GREAT !!! would be a understatement also Kings of the North pod is a must listen for me now
Would have missed it if I did not hear you guys on The On3 pod
As Michigan fan it was hard to see The Ohio State win another national championship but glad they kept it in the the BIG10 and the North
GO BLUE!!!
Hard to get behind a show, as a buckeye fan, that produced a show about how awful it’s been from a quality perspective for northern football. I believe I heard you say the north was terrible at football for 25 years. Is this SEC trash? I’ll keep listening because it’s still college football. I am really bothered by the 25 year trash and skip ahead in the pod every time it’s referenced.
Fisrt of all you guys do a great job on the pod. The new mini series on Southern dominance and the recent north resurgence got me thinking…. We are so back!
I coach 11u football in Northeast Ohio (NEO Flight). We won the Pop Warner Superbowl last December over the undefeated Ft Myers Firecats (search it up on youtube). Everybody had us losing because of the bias you cover in your show. Other teams from Ohio won the 10u bracket in Pop Warner (Richmond Fastbreak) and the 12u bracket in anothe... more
