Use to be my favorite show but now it feels like a spot for self advertisement. Sorry just the way I feel probably not important but I definitely have changed my podcasts .

  • Radical Ad

This broadcast is brought to you by an ad for Jasmine Crockett. They have no standard in terms of the ads that they will run, so I have no interest in continuing to listen to this podcast.

  • Best in the Biz

Adam King is not a voice that carries any credibility with OSU football. He’s the only weak-link on this podcast. As a true recruiting junkie, I can confidently say Birm is the best in the business, when it comes to OSU recruiting Info, and it’s not even close.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Beat: KJ Hill talks career path from Ohio State to NFL to first-coaching job at South Florida
Q: What made you want to coaching after your playing career, and what drew you to this path specifically?
Hill explains that a year or two away from football rekindled his competitive spirit and made him realize coaching was the path, inspired by mentors like Urban Meyer and Ryan Day, and the allure of shaping players' development.
The Beat: Ohio State mailbag questions about player swaps, Jeremiah Smith draft spot and more
Q: How important is depth to the team's success, beyond injuries, and did last year's depth hold up under playoff pressure?
Depth was seen as significantly better this year across positions, reducing the risk of a few injuries derailing the unit, though there was nuance about the defense's early reliance on certain players and the offense's need to execute in the red zone.
The Beat: Ohio State mailbag questions about player swaps, Jeremiah Smith draft spot and more
Q: With Mid-May mailbag, if you could add one player from another team anywhere in the country to the Buckeyes this year, who would it be?
They discussed Carter Smith from Indiana for offensive line depth, with a broader preference for a top-tier tackle who could move inside if needed; the consensus leaned toward adding a veteran, dominant tackle to anchor the line.
The Beat: Brian Hartline talks decision to leave Ohio State, his vision for building USF program
Q: What ultimately made this the job you wanted to leave Columbus for?
Hartline describes a combination of personal and professional factors, including fit, long-term vision, and the support system at USF, framing it as a calculated move to build something lasting rather than seeking a quick promotion.
The Beat: Ohio State questions on the quarterback run game, recruiting and more
Q: Would you like your opinions on what happened with the offensive line last year?
The line issues were multi-faceted: a new offensive line coach, injuries, young running backs, and facing stronger defenses; no single factor explains it, and percentages were debated to reflect the relative impact.
