  • Love the podcast!

Long time listener, first time reviewer. I’ve been a lifelong fan of Michael, watching his more popular films like Aliens, Terminator, and Tombstone since I was a kid. We have Carrie Henn next week and Thomas Jane the week of the 20th, with Gale hoped to be rescheduled soon as the primary guest.
Roger Avary
Q: How did you come up with True Romance and how did it evolve into the film we know today?
We started with a proto document that blended bits of Natural Born Killers and Pulp Fiction, then continuously rewrote and trimmed it with Quentin until it became a standalone script; the process involved long rewrites, shifting partners, and ultimately aligning with a path to production.

Q: What was your involvement with the legal outcome of the incident where you were shot?
Garrett Warren explained that he was involved in the legal proceedings and decided to take a plea deal for the shooter, prioritizing the wellbeing of his daughter over revenge.

It felt to me that, you know, I learned some new things.
Author Mark Lee Gardner
Q: Did you write in your book that Wyatt Earp's first wife's family was not particularly fond of Wyatt Earp around the time of her death?
I didn't. In my book, but that is a story that's out there.
