Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, many were overwhelmed with stress, anxiety and depression. While this epidemic of stress has been growing over the past decade, it has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the divisive nature of political discourse. • THIS episode!

Had to pause it several times to cry. Had to pause it toward the end to order the book so could stop taking notes. Must pause now to say thank you, Mel. I missed the first airing of this but life circumstances drew me to it today and now I know why. Thank you, Dr Doty. May you rest in peace and love. 🙏

  • Inspiring

James R Doty’s work, which I loved engaging with in 2020, paved the path for me to discover Gabor Mate’s work with a little help from kismet, as a colleague who had done a course with Gabor generously shared the Wisdom of Trauma film with me in summer 2021.

Days later I saw that Gabor was offering a course in compassion and although I’d not yet engaged with any of his prolific publications (books, media) my gut feeling was that it was something I should do.

I’m nearing the end of the year lo... more
