  • The Conversation Cancer Patients Deserve But Rarely Get

Dr. Karlfeldt creates a space that feels less like an interview and more like a genuine conversation between two people who care deeply about helping others navigate cancer. He's warm, knowledgeable and present and that's rare. As a two-time cancer survivor, I wish I had met Michael long before now. If you're looking for hope beyond the "fight harder" narrative, start here.

I’m a 50 year survivor of late stage cancer from 1974. I left Mayo and went to TJ for nutritional therapy—no chemo, no radiation. Dr. Karlfeldt is such an engaging interviewer—he made my job easy. I felt like this is a Doc I would consult with and consider at non-toxic treatment that he has.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Prof. Thomas Attig | Why Grief Is Not a Stage: Relearning How to Love After Loss
Q: Do you mind sharing a little about your background and how you came to study grief and death?
I started as a teacher and one-man death and dying study, recognizing that grief unfolds in unique ways and that the traditional five-stage model is limited; my work focuses on relearning how to live and love after loss, informed by personal observation and extensive reading in psychology, literature, and philosophy.
Mick Emandi & Dr. Greg Carder | Hydrogen Therapy, Stem Cell Signaling & the Future of Regenerative Medicine
Q: Why is the signaling approach to regenerative medicine potentially superior to traditional stem cell therapies?
Signaling therapies use the full spectrum of paracrine signals from the placenta, avoiding DNA/RNA transfer and issues like graft-versus-host disease, while providing longer-lasting signaling to activate resident stem cells and tissue precursors.
Mick Emandi & Dr. Greg Carder | Hydrogen Therapy, Stem Cell Signaling & the Future of Regenerative Medicine
Q: What makes hydrogen therapy different from hydrogen water or other antioxidants?
Breathing hydrogen allows a larger, more bioavailable dose that can directly interact with reactive oxygen species and support mitochondrial function, whereas hydrogen water provides a much smaller, limited amount of hydrogen.
Dr. Joel Pash | Nonsurgical Penile Enhancement, ED Treatment & Men's Sexual Health
Q: How safe are the injectable fillers and what should patients expect?
Fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, are temporary, and can be dissolved if needed; infection is a rare but possible risk, and most patients recover quickly with minimal downtime.
Dr. Joel Pash | Nonsurgical Penile Enhancement, ED Treatment & Men's Sexual Health
Q: What are the main surgical options and their risks?
Surgical options include implants under the skin and suspensory ligament release; implants can cause altered sensation, erectile dysfunction, and potential erosion through the skin, while ligament release can shorten the penis over time as the ligament regrows.
