I have been a fan of JJās music for years but only recently stumbled upon this podcast. What wonderful stories and storytelling they all contain. Thank you to JJ, Dave, and all of their guests for sharing the truth of how these simple, everyday moments have shaped their lives.
I love how they tell stories backwards.
The editing is great.
I often end up feeling inspired that any moment in my life might end up being pivotal - or that I could be part of the pivotal moment for someone else.
I have never written a review for a podcast, though I listen to several. I even host my own. āInstrumentalā is a rare gem of awe and wonder with a unique twist. They view their special guestās lives in reverse. And along the way the listener discovers key pivot moments in every oneās story where a life trajectory is recalibrated - and as Rich Mullins used to sing - āGod shook them forward and shook them free.ā But that is just half the reason āInstrumentalā is a treasure. J.J. Heller and Dave H... more
I look forward to every one of these podcast episodes! JJ and Dave have a beautiful way of guiding the conversations they have with their guests. No matter the personās story, I always come away encouraged! Iāll definitely be sad when I finish listening to all the available episodes! Please continue making them, JJ and Dave!
JJ & Dave have been making some incredible music! And now an absolutely incredible podcast as well! These stories are so uplifting thank you so much for all the content you guys are making!!!
What a blessing to listen and be encouraged as JJ & Dave interview various artists who love the Lord and desire to please him! I also appreciate the way that they bring laughter into my day.
I was introduced like many people to J.J Heller by the song What Love really means. That is a game changing song but it does not define her anymore than Awesome God defines Rich Mullins. I used to follow Hellers blog and she was an amazing blogger. But the blog doesn't define her either what defines her is the movement of God in her and her husbands life. Instrumental gives her and her husband an outlet to discover other peoples stories and see how God has been instrumental. The first one I list... more
This is a wonderful gift, thank you! I appreciate the investment of your talents and gifts into this collective space.
JJ and Dave Heller do a beautiful job of sharing peopleās stories that show how God is using each of us in His Great Plan for His people. Humbled to hear of how suffering and hardship brought beauty and life to their guests. Solo del Gloria!
Hello JJ and Dave! From the 1st time meeting you at a tour with my dear friend Jason that stopped in my hometown (and you allowed me AND my pup on your cool bus after the concert!) to following yāall to the Strawberry Festival in Po-Dunk, Tx (Poteet was the name!), I felt your hearts and loved JJās music. This interview with Jason had me in snotty-nosed tears! Knowing and loving Jason for 24 years, I had only bits and pieces of his story, as our lives were in different places and towns/states.... more
My family stumbled upon JJ Heller music when we joined MOPS (2018) and received a CD of lullabies...& have the album on repeat almost daily. As our daughter grew to talk, she started to ask questions about her favorite singer. While looking to find more music and information about JJ, we found her blog and podcast. How amazing it is to hear stories of inspiration just like the stories in her songs. JJ and her husband have truly blessed this family with their songs and now stories of life- by ot... more
I just listened to the Becca Stevens interview. What a wonderful woman she is to help women! I have enjoyed all the interviews I have listened to. I have more to hear. Thank you! From Mary in Seattle area.
Iām was delighted to find this podcast. Beside their creative style and arrangement, every podcast has been inspiring. Thank-you Dave and J.J. for opening this window to introduce me to a whole new arena of individuals and their stories.
What an incredible first episode back. Instrumental is by far my favorite podcast, and Iāve tried a lot! Your intentional questions, your beautiful music, your kindness and love for your interviewees shines through. We need more Jesus testimony podcasts out there - but none could be as good as this one! Love what you guys are doing - God bless you. Youāre right where He wants you!
