Passionate hosts who truly understand the outdoors and conservation. The recent episode nailed it pointing out how crowded hiking areas aren’t the place for inexperienced “weekend warriors” from New York City who think they’re hunters. Real hunters know the land, respect safety, and don’t confuse moving hikers with game.
Love the subject matter (episodes are too long) but the boys strayed off course on this one showing both their anti-hunting bias and ignorance of the subject, not recognizing that there are listeners like me who hike, hunt, fish and protect the environment by actually paying for NYS licenses and other good deeds. Do my best to tolerate the butchering of the English language and arrogance in each episode but please get some command on issues you plan to discuss. See you on the trail!
A solid listen for Catskills hikers
I always look forward to the Recent Hikes section—it’s relatable, useful, and sometimes just what I need to get motivated. I especially enjoy the episodes that feature local hikers.
Great podcast for avid hikers that frequent The Catskills
This podcast presents topics I am very interested in as a local so I subscribed, but whenever it starts playing in car I have to immediately switch to something else because the intro music is so disruptive. I suspect you are losing other potential local listeners for this reason. I suggest dropping the music and letting the content of your podcast be the star. My guess is your listeners will increase if you do this.
