The program reviews and external evaluation showed that many offered programs are effective and evidence-based, but capacity and wait lists remain major obstacles; the key now is to scale up space, staffing, and funding to expand access and sustain success.

Q: Were there any policy or workplace initiatives you saw emerging from this research, similar to historical movements during the Industrial Revolution?
So far, the US lags behind in mandating workplace health policies, with Scandinavian countries leading; the research mainly suggests a cultural shift rather than immediate policy mandates, though the data could support future policy discussions.
How the screen you're looking at is affecting your health
Q: Tell us about the scale of the global clinical trial and what people were experiencing when they joined.
We enlisted over 23,000 public radio listeners to try inserting gentle movement breaks into their day, partnered with Columbia University Medical Center, and found that most participants adapted well, with meaningful reductions in fatigue and improvements in focus and productivity.
