  • Great resource!

What a great podcast! I get to Listen to all of the best arguments against Christianity; And the best arguments for Christianity.

Dr Craig’s appeal to 1 Corinthians 15:3-11 to prove a historical Jesus seems quite impotent after reading ‘On the Historicity of Jesus’ by Dr. Carrier. The Greek word for resurrection is not used in the earliest “received creed” by St. Paul. So…no resurrection required.

Maybe it’s time to open our minds to the possibility that we are in a cult in the same way we ... more

  • Must listen

Craig is the most articulate and compelling Christian apologist of our century. Listen to the fantastic debate on the resurrection with Hector Avalos for a perfect illustration of Craig’s motivation to participate in these debates: he’s not in to compete with his opponent, but to win souls to the Christian faith. Magistral.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can Something Come From Nothing
Q: Bill, lay out what are some of the philosophical reasons for thinking the universe began to exist.
Craig lays out two main philosophical arguments: (1) the impossibility of an actually infinite past, which would require an endless, non-finitely divisible sequence of events, and (2) the impossibility of forming an actual infinite by successive addition, arguing that any such infinite could not be completed and thus the past must have a beginning.
Did the Universe Begin?
Q: What is, in a nutshell, this argument for a beginning of the universe from the expansion of the universe?
Craig articulates that contemporary cosmology shows the universe had a finite past; the expansion back in time leads to an absolute beginning, and while quantum gravity may alter details, the core claim remains the universe began to exist, which strengthens the Kalam cosmological argument.
Did Jesus Really Exist?
Q: Did Jesus of Nazareth exist as a historical person?
Craig argues there is solid, widely accepted historical consensus that Jesus did exist, supported by multiple independent lines of evidence and early attestation.
Six Major Arguments for God
Q: Explain the heart of the ontological argument.
The heart of the ontological argument centers on the concept of a maximally great being, defined by maximal perfection across possibility; if such a being exists in some possible world, it exists in all possible worlds and thus in actuality, leading to the conclusion that a maximally great being exists.
Six Major Arguments for God
Q: Let's start with the argument from contingency. What's that argument?
The contingency argument posits that everything that exists has an explanation, the universe began to exist, and therefore the universe has an explanation that is best explained by God; the defender then elaborates the premises and argues for a theistic explanation as the best available.
