Hate the closure of BBC Sounds. But In Our Time remains a beacon in our newly mad,mad world.

Can we please at least have the sleep timer timer reinstalled on the BBC app audio?

  • Critical for society

This series reviews history, yes, but impressed upon us the need to live in and for our societies. Particularly now, with angst in the world, it is important to learn and have conversations about historic figures and events. History was a thing to learn in school. But history is people, cultures, connections. It gives meaning to who we are. This podcast gives us all of this.

  • Every podcast owes a thank you to In Our Time

This is the yeast, the foundation stone, the origin story of every single podcast. The Rest is History (also amazing) owes its origins to this wonderful show. Never dumbed down, and yet always humbly asking the basic questions, this is history, radio and podcasting at its absolute finest. Thank you Melvin Bragg. Broadcasting genius.
